MY THERAPEUTIC APPROACH
I believe that my role as a therapist is to help guide my patients towards living the fullest, most meaningful versions of their lives. Therapy with me is a collaborative process; although I have knowledge and expertise, treatment is always grounded in my patients’ own values and goals. I believe that therapeutic change occurs when my patients are able to do things differently and more flexibly. Life is full of challenges, our minds tell unhelpful stories, and our emotions can feel overwhelming and uncomfortable. I help my patients work towards accepting discomfort in the service of living life more fully. In therapy we do things that are uncomfortable, exciting, nerve-wracking, and gratifying - things that open up my patients’ lives and slowly break them out of the box that they’ve been living in. Regardless of the specific treatment used (ERP, PE, CBT, etc.), I am always approaching therapy through the lens of exposure, with the addition of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) techniques to ground everything in what matters to you.

WHY I DO THIS WORK
Our minds are incredible, but can limit us in so many ways. If we listen to the scariest, darkest thoughts we have, we become paralyzed. It is incredibly gratifying to help others recognize that they do not have to listen to these thoughts, and can in fact do so much more than they ever thought possible.
Taking this step takes courage, and we're so glad you are doing so. We can't wait to be part of your journey toward feeling better.
