HOW IT ALL STARTED
Our Story
CABT began in 2015 as a shared vision between clinical psychologists David Yusko and Steven Tsao. What started small has grown into a passionate team of dedicated therapists committed to delivering high-quality mental health care and making it more accessible around the world. From our first OCD workshop in 2019 to training over 1,600 therapists in the first five years of operation, we’ve stayed grounded in our mission: to provide expert, compassionate care and training, so patients don’t have to suffer longer than necessary.

Our Mental Health Treatment Specialties
While every therapist at CABT is an expert in anxiety disorders and OCD, many also bring specialized expertise in areas such as emetophobia, PTSD, depression, perinatal and postpartum mental health, eating disorders, and related concerns like hair-pulling, skin-picking, and body dysmorphia.
Our team offers personalized, research-based treatment plans to help patients struggling with panic, anxiety, and worry develop skills to manage symptoms and live their best lives in line with their values.
Our therapists use evidence-based treatments to help patients process trauma and PTSD, addressing the root causes while reducing symptoms and restoring safety and control.
We’re one of the few centers worldwide specializing in emetophobia, offering targeted treatment and a supportive community for patients and therapists through the Emetophobia Institute.
We provide specialized, science-backed care—including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)—to help patients manage symptoms and reclaim their peace of mind.
Our team provides tailored, evidence-based treatments to help kids and teens better understand their anxiety and build lasting coping skills.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a scientifically supported approach that helps people by focusing on present challenges rather than exploring the past. Unlike traditional talk therapy, CBT emphasizes building practical skills, practicing exercises, and learning through real-world application. It is an active, collaborative process where the therapist and client work together to overcome obstacles and create meaningful change.
-
While the name can sound scary, exposure therapy is a form of CBT where therapists and clients team up to find ways to gradually and systematically confront anxiety to help clients feel less anxious, more confident, and more in control of their own lives. At CABT, all exposure therapy is done collaboratively, with a highly individualized plan to help each client successfully reclaim their lives from their anxiety.
