SPECIALTIES

Emotional Dysregulation

Fundamental to my therapeutic approach is collaboration, compassion, and creativity. I have a flexible style that allows my breadth of experience with various theoretical orientations - namely, cognitive behavioral, acceptance and commitment, and dialectical behavior therapies - to adapt to each persons’ diverse concerns and goals. My hope is to help individuals find a path to more meaning, balance, and freedom by getting unstuck from unhelpful thoughts and behaviors and by learning to have a new relationship with their internal and external experiences. My stance is nonjudgmental and energized, committed to deep understanding and navigating recovery as a team.

MY APPROACH

  • Intensive training and consultation in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Certified CPT provider

  • Prior experience as staff psychologist at Massachusetts General Hospital Home Base Military Program in the outpatient, intensive clinical, and family programs

  • Previous academic appointment at Harvard Medical School

  • PTSD Postdoctoral fellowship at Boston VA Medical Center, including PTSD clinical team, women’s recovery, and comprehensive DBT programs

  • Predoctoral internship at Baltimore VA Medical Center in general mental health, PTSD clinical team, family intervention, and substance use clinics

  • Previous experience working with forensic populations in outpatient setting, including individuals released on parole mandated to treatment

  • Substantial experience working with individuals presenting with emotion dysregulation and high-risk behaviors

  • Experience providing supervision for postdoctoral and practicum students

MY EXPERIENCE

I am deeply committed to helping people build (or continue to build) a life that is what they want - in an environment grounded in safety and acceptance. I find it a privilege and highly rewarding to see willingness and change occur as people tap into their inner wisdom and move along their unique road to wellness and new insights. I have never wavered in my hope to understand, relieve suffering, and build meaning and purpose. I welcome the opportunity to help others build skills, further their resilience, and process overwhelming emotions.
