This training is appropriate for all licensed mental health professionals, or those working under the license of a mental health professional. The workshop will include:

  • A review of the empirical support for the use of ERP as the first-line treatment for OCD

  • Theoretical foundation behind ERP

  • Administration and interpretation of structured assessments for OCD

  • Comprehensive, step-by-step guide to delivering ERP to adolescent and adult patients including rationale delivery, hierarchy construction, and concrete examples of exposures

  • Use of case examples to illustrate theoretical concepts throughout

  • Interactive lecture and role-plays to solidify participant’s skill and comfort with ERP

Workshop fee: $950 per person, which includes:

  • Four, 60-minute, group consultation sessions with ERP experts to be completed after the workshop to help attendees implement ERP with their own clients

  • 19.5 hours of CEUs

  • Copies of all workshop slides

  • Therapist and patient handouts

*All attendees must purchase a copy of the therapist manual for ERP: “Exposure and Response (Ritual) Prevention for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder: Therapist Guide, 2nd Edition” by Foa, Yadin, & Lichner for reference during the workshop.

The purpose of our workshops is to provide comprehensive training on specialized treatment and disorders. Therefore, we expect participants to plan to attend for the full workshop duration. CEU hours are only supplied to participants who attend the whole workshop. 

The Center for Anxiety and Behavior Therapy is approved by the Pennsylvania State Board Psychology and the Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Professional Counselors to offer continuing education for social workers, marriage and family therapists, and professional counselors. The Center for Anxiety and Behavior Therapy maintains responsibility for the program(s).


Instructors: Drs. Steven Tsao, David Yusko, and Christina DiChiara are experts in the delivery and dissemination of empirically-based treatments for anxiety disorders. They each bring over 10 years of experience treating OCD using ERP to this workshop, focusing on providing an interactive, comprehensive, and up-to-date training experience that helps participants implement new techniques and interventions in their own practice. Their combined experience spans the full spectrum of OCD subtypes and severity levels, having worked at outpatient, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, and residential levels of care for OCD. Registration Deadline:
Online registration will close when the workshop reaches maximum capacity, so early registration is strongly encouraged. If the workshop is not completely filled, online registration will close  24 hours prior to the start of the workshop. Registration after this deadline may be possible, but must be directly coordinated with our staff. Cancellation Policy:

  • The cancellation deadline is 2 weeks prior to the start date of the workshop.

  • Registered attendees that request to cancel before the cancellation deadline will be refunded the full cost of their registration, less a processing fee determined by Stripe. 

  • Registered attendees that request to cancel after the cancellation deadline will be refunded 50% of their registration, less the processing fee determined by Stripe.

  • Refunds cannot be issued for cancellations made less than 2 days prior to the start of the workshop. 

  • You can receive full monetary credit towards another CABT workshop(s) at any point of cancellation.

COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  1. Identify the DSM-5 criteria for OCD

  2. Name at least three subtypes of OCD including content of obsessions and typical associated compulsions

  3. Describe the procedure for the administration and scoring of the Yale-Brown Obsessive-Compulsive Scale (YBOCS)

  4. Explain the overall rationale for Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD

  5. Describe the rationale for in vivo exposure in the treatment of OCD

  6. Describe the rationale for imaginal exposure in the treatment of OCD

  7. Demonstrate ability to generate hierarchy items for a variety of subtypes of OCD

  8. Understand the procedure for conducting an effective exposure

  9. Identify at least two examples of family accommodation of OCD

  10. Describe at least two relapse prevention strategies for maintaining gains in ERP after the end of active treatment
